“End of January 2004, the closing of my townhome was to take place. A crippling ice storm hit Raleigh, the roads were treacherous, but I was determined to close on my new home. Linda was my realtor and was willing to ride with me to the closing. Once getting there, we noticed the parking lot was a sheet of ice and we had to park out in the street. We needed ice skates to get to the door, but since we did not have them, Linda said “we’re hitting the ground.” We proceeded to crawl up the incline of the parking lot to the door. We found it difficult to crawl and also drag along out purses, etc., so Linda said “just hurl the purses up ahead of us and we will collect them once we have crawled up there.” Well, that sounded like a plan, so we proceeded to do so. What we did not anticipate was that our purses decided to slide back down but in a different direction, so then we were crawling after our purses. Across the street was an office building, so I am positive instead of employees gathering around the water cooler, they were pressed against the windows hysterically laughing at the two women crawling across the iced parking lot chasing their purses and then finally making their way to the entry.
